“NO ENTERTAINMENT IS SO CHEAP AS READING NOR ANY PLEASURE SO LASTING.” ––Mary Wortley Montagu, an English Aristocrat and writer 1689-1762
My point I want to make is that this author did a marvelous job at ripping at my heart and making me feel involved in the book. And since I am writing my own series, I appreciated that final concluding moment that prompted me to go out and buy the sequel.
Every writer has their strengths and weaknesses. I also think every writer has to stretch themselves in what they do. Writing a sequel was one of those stretching moments for me. I have a great appreciation for those fellow authors who inspire me with their works. My “research” I did to prepare for writing again was so enjoyable! For as Mary Wortley Montagu said, “No entertainment is so cheap as reading nor any pleasure so lasting.” I did indeed start writing again two weeks ago and the chapters have poured out of me. Now, I am 1/3 the way finished writing Hope For Fitzwilliam and however rote this sounds, it is my best writing yet! I just wanted to say a special thank you to all those authors out there who feed my thirst and hunger. Reading is one of those things that will never disappear. Schools will always encourage it. There will always be book clubs. Hollywood will always look for its inspiration from books. Technology may change how we read, but I know this author will always enjoy “researching”.
